Doris Marie Ogletree

Doris Marie Ogletree, 90, of Liberal, passed away on Thursday June 18, 2020 at Southwest Medical Center. She was born on May 1, 1930 to Charles and Ada (Corbett) Jones at Garden City, KS. On April 8, 1949 she married Harry "Bud" Scheuchzer at Clayton, NM; he preceded her in death on March 12, 1982. In 1973 she married Jack Ogletree Sr. at Amarillo, TX; he preceded her in death May 1, 2000 Doris was a graduate of Garden City High School class of 1948. She was a member of Red Hat Society, DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), a former Board Member of the Seward Co. Historical Society. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Jack. She also enjoyed working at Dorothy's House and she was an avid collector of Wizard of Oz Memorabilia. She was also involved with Ozfest where she had the pleasure of ushering Frank Baum Jr. and the Munchkins. Doris also enjoyed sharing her life and memories with her extensive photo collection with her loved ones. She was proud of the life that she lived; and a long fulfilled life she lived indeed! Doris is survived by two Daughters, Shirley J Childers and husband Mike of Cripple Creek, CO, Jodie M Jacobs and husband Ruben of Blanchard, OK; Grandson, Chad Childers and wife April of Ft Myers, FL; Granddaughter, Michaela Sims and husband Jeff of Trophy Club, TX; three Great Grandchildren, Braeden and Olivia Sims and Jasper Childers; her beloved pet Bossy Baby. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her beloved pet Mischievous Mac. Per Doris' wishes, there will be no services and cremation has taken place.
