Doug Stoll

Douglas "Doug" Leon Stoll, 82, of Liberal, passed away on Wednesday December 31, 2025 at the Oklahoma City VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.

He was born on December 20, 1943 to Henry and Esther Stoll in Liberal, KS.

Doug married Marcella Ruth Classen at the First Church of God in Liberal, KS.

On July 29, 1966 Doug enlisted into the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War. While in the Navy he earned a submarine sonar maintenance technician and radio mechanics certifications. Doug also earned a pilot's license during his time in the military; flying single engine planes became a hobby that he enjoyed for many years. Returning home after serving in the US Navy Doug worked in many fields including driving trucks, working at Haliburton, Northern Natural Gas/Enron then later with the City of Liberal before retirement. Doug was a gifted mechanic and enjoyed working with and rebuilding engines of all sizes. He also enjoyed restoring & rebuilding antique cars with his brothers. Most of all, Doug loved being with his family. 

Doug is survived by his loving wife Marcella, Son, Scott (Dana) Holmes; Two Daughters, Michelle Holmes and Vicky (Matt) Emery.Three Sisters, Anita (Windal) Frieson, Sonia (Dennis) Ediger, Delores (Donny) Hubbert; Three Brothers, Ron (June) Stoll, Wes (Marsha) Stoll, Roger (Melia) Stoll; Four Granddaughters, MaKayla McLendon, Jessica Lucas, Evelyn Lucas, and Marrisa Foy; Three Grandsons, Dallas McLendon, Kameron Holmes, and Christopher Gonzales; Four Great Grandchildren, Claesverick Gonzales, Ayden Foy, James Foy, and Jordyn McLendon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday January 13, 2026 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel in Liberal, KS, with Pastor Rex Petty, officiating.
