Elmer Harris

Elmer Franklin Harris, 91, of Liberal, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the Wheatridge Park Care Center.

He was born on February 20, 1934 to William and Macie (Ingerham) Harris at Beaver, OK.

On September 11, 1954 he married Patricia Beason at Clayton, NM; she preceded him in death on February 7, 2004.

Elmer attended school at Greenough / Blue Bell/ Valley Center. He started working as an Inspector for Beechcraft in 1965. In 1985 he was transferred to Wichita, where he continued to work for Beechcraft until his retirement on February 28, 1996. After his retirement they returned to Liberal, KS. He was a member of South Church of God, AFL-CIO Union, Beech Employee Club, Moose Lodge-Wichita. 

Elmer is survived by Two Daughters, Patricia Volden (Robert) of Liberal, KS, Lura Jane Wheat (Cynthia Walton) of Amarillo, TX; Two Sons, Eugene Bolton (Selby Kay) of Oklahoma City, OK, Bill Harris of Olathe, KS; Sister, Carolyn Granite of Liberal, KS; Brother, Calvin Harris of Liberal, KS; 16 Grandchildren and several Great and Great Great Grandchildren. 

He was also preceded in death by his Parents; two Brothers, Howard Harris and Charles Harris; three Sisters, Aileen Winkler, Betty Winkler-Taylor, and Helen Walker; one Granddaughter, and two Great Grandchildren. 

Viewing will be 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday September 25, 2025 at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, Kansas. 

Funeral Services will be Friday, September 26, 2025, 10:00 am at the South Church of God, Liberal, Kansas, with Jim Garcia, officiating. 

Burial will take place in the Restlawn Cemetery.
