Jack Prater

Liberal KS ˜ Jack Prater, 82, Liberal, KS, died Monday, December 13, 2010, at Kansas Medical Center, Andover, KS. ˜˜ He was born June 7, 1928 at Memphis, TX , the son of El & Mabel C.˜ Prater. ˜˜ Jack˜ had retired from the Rock Island Railroad after twenty years,˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ coming˜ to Liberal in 1970 he was a self-employed painter for many years.˜ He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U S Marine Corps.˜ ˜˜ On March 10, 1953 he married Dee Wayne Clements at Clayton, NM, she died March 3, 2001. ˜˜ He is survived by two sons, Jack W Prater, Liberal, KS;˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ James Thomas Prater and wife Karla, Dalhart, TX; one daughter Jacqueline Yaden, Amarillo, TX;˜ three grandchildren, Jim Prater, Jr.,˜ Jennifer Sue Brock and Terri Faye Core; two great-grandchildren, Sarah & Grace Brock.˜ He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister, one granddaughter Desirae Prater. ˜˜ Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Miller Chapel with Rev. Rex Petty presiding. ˜˜ Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens. ˜˜ Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary˜ 9 A.M. til service time Thursday.
