Jimmy Don Hamm, 70, of Liberal, passed away on Tuesday July 14, 2026 at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX .
He was born on January 21, 1956 to Loyal and Nellie (Marshall) Hamm at Liberal, KS.

To state that Jimmy was avid Racing fan and loved fast cars would be an understatement! Back in the day when Liberal featured regulars racing events at Sundown Raceway, Ripper Raceway, or the Fairgrounds he was always there whether he was working & assisting with the races, watching the races from the grandstands or hanging out with the drivers in the Pit. Jimmy also enjoyed watching game shows and listening to rock music; ironically, one of his favorite band was "The Cars" which perfectly aligned with his overall love of cars!
Throughout his life, Jimmy was always very close with is brother Terry and had made many wonderful memories together including riding their bicycles and playing football in the yard as kids to enjoying the races and just hanging out. He had worked many years Koochel Automotive assisting in any way he could even though his primary duty was Detailing client's vehicles; a job in which he loved & perfected!
Jimmy will always be remembered as gentle and kind-hearted man that will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his brother, Terry Hamm of Liberal, KS and his many friends.
