Joe Stanley Coleman

Joe Stanley Coleman, 71, of Liberal, passed away on Wednesday June 19, 2024 at Homestead Estates Plus in Liberal..  

He was born on January 30, 1953 to Roosevelt Coleman and Blanche (Dorsey) Caton at Shamrock, TX.

On February 25, 1971 he married Dorothy Jean Green at Dalhart, TX.

Joe worked with the Sanitation Dept. for the City of Liberal for many years before retiring. He enjoyed working on old cars, riding his motorcycle, fishing, and was well known for his love of Smoking Ribs. Joe also enjoyed spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren. He was a former member of Morning Kiwanis Club of Liberal. Joe was a member of Bibleway Church of God In Christ.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Dorothy; Son, Jay Coleman and wife Katie of Liberal, KS; Four Brothers, Frank Holman and wife Barbara of Liberal, KS, Ricky Holman and wife Zenda of Lubbock, TX, Paul Holman of Liberal, KS, Jimmy Holman of Liberal, KS; Mother In Law, Doris Green of Plainview, TX; Four Granddaughters, Trinity and Talayah of Atlanta, GA; Haven,Jayda and Kameron of Liberal, KS; Tyra Canary of Wichita, KS; Four Grandsons, Andre and wife Pearl of San Antonio, TX; Chauncey of San Antonio, TX; Maurice Coleman of Dalhart, TX; Maurice Bradford and Devon Canary of Wichita, KS; Four Great Grandsons, Amar’e, Lennox and Demetrius of San Antonio, TX; and Million of Wichita, KS; One Great granddaughter, Key’Mani of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Son, Joe Stanley "Junior Bug" Coleman, Jr., Daughter, Delesa "Lesa" Jean Canary, Brother, M. T. and Eva Holman.  

Viewing will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, Kansas. 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, 10:00 am at Bibleway Church of God In Christ in Liberal, KS.

Burial will take place in the Liberal City Cemetery.
