June Christy

Emelia June Christy, 79, of Liberal, passed away on Saturday May 30, 2026 at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX.

She was born on September 20, 1946 to Ignacio Nash and Lucinda (Fuentes) Cordova at Tucumcari, NM.

On June 14, 1985 she married Daryl Christy in Liberal, KS. 

June worked many years as a Telephone Operator before marrying Daryl. She enjoyed playing BINGO, going to the Casinos, camping and fishing at Ft. Supply and other surrounding lakes. June loved being with her family who will greatly miss her. She was a member of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Liberal. 

June is survived by her loving husband Daryl, Son, Charlie Joe Baker of Greeley, CO; Two Daughters, Selena (Anthony Joe) Sena of Liberal, KS, Tammie Leigh Baker-Baray of Liberal, KS; Step Daughter, Tina Christy of Scottsblufff NE; Brother, Stanley Cordova of Liberal, KS; Two Sisters, Theresa Heger of Hugoton, KS, Patricia Bedford of Liberal, KS; Five Grandsons, Robert Joseph (Kimber) Baker of Pampa, TX, Michael Anthony (Natalia) Sena of Hooker, OK, Marquise Cody (Mariah) Arellano of Greeley, Co, Logan Nash Baker of Greeley, CO, Ryan Michael (Jennifer) Burns of Liberal, KS; two Granddaughters, Charli Jo Sena of Liberal, KS, Lucia Acevado of Liberal, KS; 12 Great Grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by Father, Ignacio Nash Cordova, Mother, Lucinda J Cordova; three Brothers, Henry Albert Cordova, Sr., Geronimo Cordova, and Gilbert Cordova; son in law, Carlos Beray. 

Viewing will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, KS.

Rosary will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 7:00 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Liberal, KS. 

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with Fr. Charles Seiwert, officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberal City Cemetery.
