Laraine Duran

Laraine May Duran, 76, of Liberal, passed away on Wednesday October 15, 2025 at Wheatridge Care Park Care Center in Liberal, KS.

She was born on December 3, 1948 to Lawrence and Mildred (Kaufman) Chapman at Garden City, KS.

Laraine enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading her bible, and studying scriptures. She also enjoyed being with her family. She attended the Church of Christ in Liberal. 

Laraine is survived by her Daughter, Jennifer Hanika of Liberal, KS; Two Sons, Robert Ray Hanika, Troy Gonzalez of Liberal, KS; Four Sisters, Mary Archuletta, Susan Randall, Barbara Beason, Dorothy Monroe;Three Grandsons, Dillon Hanika, Trenton Long, Ashton Long; Six Great Grandchildren, Alana, Sage, Lincoln, and Maverick. 

She was preceded in death by her Parents; Two Sisters, Shirley McCurry and Evelyn Chapman. 

There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Church of Faith and Restoration, 513 N. Lincoln St, Liberal, KS.
