Lindell "Lin" Vern Rodenberg, 73, of Liberal, passed away on Wednesday October 29, 2025 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS.
He was born on January 19, 1952 to Alvin and Helena (Rasband) Rodenberg at Syracuse, KS.
On March 10, 1994 he married Anita (Kidder) Lambert in Liberal, KS. Lin brought three daughters into the marriage and Anita brought two boys and one daughter. Because most of the children were already teens many of their friends referred to them as "The Brady Bunch".
He was a graduate of Scott City Community High School; class of 1970. Lin worked many years in the Maintenance Dept. at Seward County Community College overseeing the campus HVAC systems.Lin was a kind man who had many friends. He was known for his ornery sense of humor and was a delight to be around. Children and animals were especially drawn to him. People would say, “don’t feel bad if our daughter (or son, or cat, or dog, or chicken) won’t come near you…” Then look down shocked as ‘said being’ was wrapped around Lin’s leg or on his lap. His family was the most important thing to Lin; known as "Papa" to many of those who loved him. It didn't matter if you had known him for life or just met him, he never knew a stranger. Everyone knew that if you needed ANYTHING, from a jump start, a hitch installed or removed, a mower fixed, or $50 because you're eating at a restaurant and realize you don't have your wallet... you could always call on Lin.
Lin will be missed by many people; he was a friend to both great and small, young and old.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Anita, four daughters: Dawn Lambert and husband, Rick, of Taneytown, MD; Elaina Quigley and husband, Chris, of Elkhart, KS; Lynell Barnes and husband, Zachariah, of Yukon, OK; Vanessa Lambert and partner, Ambrose, of Liberal, KS; Two Sons: Justin Lambert and wife, Keri, of Liberal, KS; Mason Lambert and wife, Sarah, of Kansas City, MO; Grandchildren: Allison, Ethan, Corinne, Elizabeth, Ryan, TJ Evan, Ashleigh, Ocklea Amber, Autumn, Forrest, Kristian, Zoe, Madeline, Kaitlyn, Cole, Lillian, Everly, Rhavin, Jezreel, Jarrett, Aydan, Eli, Annabelle, and Josephine; Great Grandchildren: Zyon, Margo, and Bo Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
