Kismet KS ˜ Maynard Greeson, 67, Kismet, KS, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal, KS, of injuries sustained in a home explosion. ˜ He was born January 7, 1944 at Friona, TX, the son of Carl & Lorene Shirley Greeson. ˜ He graduated from Frioma High School in Friona, TX, and received his˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ degree in Animal Science from West Texas State University, Canyon, TX.˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ In 1972 he oved to Southwest Kansas to begin farming.˜ He married˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ Martha C. Mills on September 23, 1972 at Silverton, TX.˜ Maynard was a lifelong farmer and rancher, raising cattle˜ and horses. ˜ Maynard is survived by his wife Martha; three sons, Chad Greeson and wife Mary, Lafayette, CA; Dr. Clay Greeson, Cleveland, OH; Wade Greeson and wife Vanessa, Orlando, FL; two brothers. O'Neil Greeson and Debbie Eikenberry, Moscow, KS; Jim Greeson and wife Gayle, Sublette, KS;˜ two sisters, Rose Ann Ray and husband Charles, Friona, TX; Carlene Osborn and husband Joel, Amarillo, TX; two grandchildren, Eloise & Gus Greeson, Lafayette, CA. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Greeson; mother Lorene˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ Greeson Dean, stepfather, Lester Dean; sister, Paula Jan Dean and brother Marty Dean. ˜˜ Visitation will be held Friday, May 27, 3-6 P.M. at the community center, Kismet, KS. ˜˜ Graveside services will be conducted 11:00˜ A.M. Saturday at the˜˜ Friona Cemetery, Friona, TX. ˜ Memorials may be made to the SCCC/ATS Foundation for the Maynard Greeson Memorial Fund or to the charity of choice in care of the mortuary. ˜ Miller Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
