Richard W. Lanford

Richard W. Lanford, 80, of Liberal, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his home. He was born on February 15, 1940 to Freddy and Myrtle Lanford at Plainview, TX. On September 16, 1966 he married Betty Keen at the Plainview, TX; she survives. Richard had worked in various vocations including as a millwright, a welder, and an electrician. He was well known throughout the community where folks would say "If you don't know Richard Lanford then you haven't lived in Liberal". Richard enjoyed riding horses and visiting with people about the Bible. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Liberal, KS. Richard is also survived by one son, Rick Lanford and wife Ann of Plains, KS; one daughter, Donna McCoy of Kress, TX; one granddaughter and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. There will be no public viewing as cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1309 Cottonwood Lane in Liberal, KS.
