Rick Alan Brown, 62, of Turpin, OK went to be with the Lord on the evening of Saturday, September 26, 2020. Rick was born on August 9, 1958 at the Ochiltree General Hospital in Perryton, TX to Barr and Mary Brown. He was a lifelong Turpin resident and graduated from Turpin High School; class of 1977. Rick married Bonnie Johnson of Hooker, OK on March 22, 1985 at the First Baptist Church in Hooker. To this union they each added two children to the family; Rick's children Barrlow & Elizabeth and Bonnie's children Jamie and Carl. Rick worked with the Beaver County District #3 Road Dept. and also served as a Volunteer Firefighter for 35 years; serving at Hooker, Tyrone and Turpin, OK where he was serving as the Fire Chief for the last few months. He was also a former Reserve Law Officer with the City of Tyrone. Rick felt it was his duty to his community to serve and help others. Ranching was Rick's passion! He enjoyed being at the lake and most of all loved his wife, children, and grandchildren! Rick was a lifelong member of the NRA, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Eastern Star where he served as a Worthy Patron, and a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association. Rick is survived by his wife Bonnie of Turpin, OK, their children- Barrlow & Kristin Brown of Jet, OK, Elizabeth & David Vaughan of Butler OK, Jamie & Lee Sabata of Liberal, KS, and Carl & Sara Johnson of Turpin, OK. His mother, Mary Brown Of Turpin, OK, brother, Jim Brown of Turpin, OK, grandchildren- Cheyenne Brown, Laura Brown, Sophia Brown, Catherine Brown, Guinevere Brown, Ashley Brown, Dammion Brown, Caileb Dover, Brittney Cannaley, Chloe Cannaley, Hunter Vaughan, Kyrah Vaughan, Brijette Sabata, Stephanie & Ethan Harkness Ryan Johnson, Bradley Johnson, Keelyn Johnson, Blake Johnson, and Blaine Johnson, Great Grandchildren- Alexander Robles, William Robles, Alaina Robles, and Braelyn Johnson, aunt, Deloris Beaty, Special nieces Tenae & Todd Davis of Jones, OK and Jamie & Mark Gentry of Holdenville, OK, plus many more nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Barr Brown, brother Danny Brown, grandparents, Lloyd & Gertrude Brown and Edwin & Bertha Beaty. Viewing will be 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 29, 2020, with the family present to greet friends from 5-7 at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, Kansas. Funeral Services will 10:00 am Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at the Turpin High School Auditorium, with Pastor Stan Lehnert, officiating. Burial will take place in the Ochiltree Cemetery near Perryton, TX.. Memorials are suggested to the Turpin Fire Dept. in care of Miller Mortuary PO Box 826 Liberal, KS 67905-0826.
