Robin J. Hood

Robin James Hood, 85, of Liberal, passed away on Monday May 25, 2026.

He was Born on December 20, 1940 in Roswell, NM; the son of Robert Hood and Ruby Gay (Muggins) Hood.

Robin proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964. Following his military service, he worked for many years at Hood Chevrolet before purchasing Ayr Lanes on March 1, 1975. Throughout his life, Robin was a dedicated businessman involved in the oil and gas industry and other business ventures.

He enjoyed spending time driving around Hood Ranch, visiting the VFW, and sharing stories with anyone willing to listen - and he certainly had plenty of stories to tell. He will be remembered for his humor, his storytelling, and the relationships he built throughout his life.

Robin is survived by his sister, Lisa K. Hood and partner David Anderson of Niwot, CO; his son, Robin Hood Jr. of Tyrone, OK; grandsons, Tucker Hood of Edmond, OK, Keifer Hood and spouse Sommer of Edmond, OK, and Konner Hood and spouse McKensie of Tyrone, OK; and great-grandchildren Hudson Hood, Hayes Hood, Holt “Hilly” Hood, Tripp Hood, and Skylar Hood.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hood, and his mother, Ruby Gay Hood.

Viewing will held on Thursday May 28, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Miller Mortuary in Liberal. 

Graveside Services will be held on Friday May 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tyrone Cemetery.
