Shirley G. Carlile, 64, Liberal, KS, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at her home. She was born October 11, 1947 in Liberal, Kansas, the son of Alvin J. & Gloria L. Hickey Dixon. She graduated Liberal High School in 1966.˜ She attended Dodge City Community˜ College and Hutchinson Community College and graduated from Amarillo Business College.˜ She worked at Amaco Productions, J & R Sand, and worked USD#480 for 25 years, working at Lincoln, McKinley, Southlawn, & Sunflower. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sunflower Booster Club and Honorary member of Southlawn PTA. On July 1, 1971, she married William Edward "Bill" Carlile at Booker, TX.˜ He died July 20, 2002. Survivors include one son Rick Carlile and wife Stacy, Liberal, KS; one daughter, Mandi Martin and husband, Jeff, Ponca City, OK; two sisters, Dixie Rice, Clinton, OK; and Lynae Anderson and husband, Dan, Harrisonville, MO; grandchildren,˜ Caitlyn Carlile, Cameron Martin, Alexander Martin, Kimberly Martin; and her mother, Gloria Dixon, Liberal, KS.˜ She was preceded in death by her husband and father. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M.˜ at the First Baptist Church with Rev.˜ John Craighead presiding. Interment will be in the Liberal Cemetery.
