Turpin, OK ˜ Stanley D. Ogletree, 86, Turpin, OK, died Tuesday September 14, 2010 at Liberal Good Samaritan Center, Liberal, KS. ˜˜ He was born January 7, 1924 at˜ Allenreed, TX, the son of Rufus S. & Daisy Lyle Shaw Ogletree.˜ ˜˜ He˜ graduated Eureka High School at Baker, OK, and later attended˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ Panhandle State University. He entered the U S Army and was a veteran of World War II. Upon returning from the service, he began his lifelong work as a˜ farmer. He also worked periodically as a lineman of the Rock Island Railroad and as an irrigation mechanic for Strickland Irrigation. ˜ Stanley's ability in mechanics also extended to his hobby of repairing˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ bicycles, that he then donted to children in the community. ˜˜ He was a lifelong member of the Baker United Methodist Church, Baker, OK. ˜˜ He married Mary Lou Lambert in 1947.˜ On April 3, 1980, he married Beverly B. Nance at Guymon, OK, she survives. ˜ He is also survived by two sons, Rick Ogletree and wife Caitlin, Cheschrine, OR;˜ Todd Ogletree, Turpin, OK; two daughters, Marsha Helm, Harrah, OK;˜ Thyria Ogletree, Boulder, CO; four step-sons, Levi Spone and wife Patti, Lawrence, KS; Terry, Stacey & Kristy Spone all of Amarillo, TX;˜˜˜ two sisters, Joyce Johnson, Chandler, AZ;˜ Bettina Arnold, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; seven grandchildren, Cedra, Sky, Sunaura Ogletree, Matt & Casey Helm, Kyra & Nyal McGee; five step-grandchildren Kelli, Corie, Kylie, Jana˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ & Kriwtian Spone;˜ three great-grandchildren, Jakob Helm, Ottis & Calvin Ogletree and one step-great-grandson, Cooper Riley Coleman.˜˜ He was preceded in death by his parents. ˜ Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the Turpin United Methodist Church with Rev. Todd Bergman presiding. ˜ Interment will be in the Tyrone Cemetery. ˜˜ Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 9 A.M.-8 P.M. Thursday and 9 A.M.-8 P.M. Friday, with the family present to greet friends 6:30-8 P.M. Friday. ˜˜ The family suggests that memorials be sent to the Baker United Methodist Church in care of the mortuary. ˜˜ Friends may send the family condolences at millermortuary.net.
