Steven Dewayne Lumley, 63 passed away in a tragic house fire on Saturday May 23, 2026.
He was born May 16, 1963 to Frank Hyman Lumley and Anita Sue (Stoker) Lumley in Moore OK.
He graduated from Tyrone High School in 1982. He Joined the Army the summer of 1981 and later became a truck driver. He drove proudly for Groendyke Transporttation for a total of 33 years. He drove over 1 Million safe miles and earned several safety awards. Steve's favorite title was "Papa". He loved being involved in anything the kids had going on. They could talk him into anything and not have to try to hard. He loved to cook, watch Nascar, College football, and loved the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include 1 son Brad Lumley of Balko OK, 1 daughter Amanda Brown of Balko OK, 6 Grandkids, Amerie Hinz, Wyatt Brown, Annika Hinz, Westin Brown, Addilynn Lumley, Waylon Lumley. 2 brothers Randy Lumley of El Dorado and Charlie and wife ( Stacey) of Bridgecreek OK. Several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Johnny and Bo Lumley, 1 sister Peggi Franklin, 1 brother in-law Casey Franklin.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday June 12th, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Miller Mortuary in Liberal Kansas.
