V. "Kay" Lucas

Vyrna "Kay" Lucas, 87, of Liberal, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 1, 1939 to Edward and Margaret (Burkholder) Dunham at Trenton, NJ.

On May 20, 1960 she married Charles "Chuck" Lucas.

Kay graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1957, and did part time night classes at Seward County Community College. She was sufficient in Short Hand (stenography). She worked for Home Rubber Company and for Stokely Van Camp in the sales offices in Trenton, NJ. She also worked for Colorado Oil, Gas and Petroleum Inc, Lowery Management and the Seward County District Court in Liberal, KS.

Her hobbies included swimming, Life Guarding, and teaching swimming in Trenton, NJ. She also loved playing the organ, piano music, and many crafts.

Kay is survived by her loving husband of 66 years Chuck, Son, Mike Lucas of Raymond, KS; Daughter, Joanne Bural of Liberal, KS; Four Grandchildren, Eight Great-Grandchildren, and her kitty "Daisy" .

She was preceded in death by her Parents; Edward and Margaret Dunham, Grandson, Nicholas M. Bural.

There will be no viewing, as cremation has taken place.

Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, October 31, 2026 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Jimmy Holman officiating.
